Simon/Alisha, 5 drabbles

First time writing Misfits FF! All these drabbles could also be read as one "longer" fic, if you like it better that way. Moments in Simon's and Alisha's life :)

Thanks to dis_netis for beta-reading them all for me and for sharing my obsession, as per usual ;)

Title: So Close
Author: purely_distel
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 285
Characters/Pairings: Simon/Alisha
Disclaimer: not mine, it all belongs to the strawberries!
Author's Note: Written for kandykanemel. Her prompt: It was the same, yet different

She is close to him now. So close, he can reach out and touch her face, her hair an unruly mess against his fingers and her eyes so open, trusting.

She is so much Alisha it nearly burns him and he knows he can't stay away, needs to touch her, to kiss her. Knows that he shouldn't but how could he not?

She is Alisha and he is Simon and things were never easy between them and so he thinks Screw it all and he leans in and finally he's kissing her again and it's just as he remembered and not at all. She tastes like Alisha, feels like Alisha, smells like Alisha but she isn't. Or maybe she is and he just isn't. He is not Simon. Not the Simon this Alisha needs.

Stupid, fucked up time travel.

In the beginning, it was always Alisha that was forward, that took the first steps. She kissed him first, she touched him first, showed him, taught him, made him. Now he has to give all that back and she is hesitant and he is dominant and she is surprised and he isn't but he wants to be and it feels all wrong but also right and he knows he can't stop and that he shouldn't but she is gripping his shoulders now and her legs are around his waist and she sighs into him and how could he not?

In the end, it's just him and her, a boy and a girl, Simon and Alisha. How could he not?

Author's Note: Written for stainofmylove. Her prompt: Don't care if I forget this.

She should be happy.

She should be over the fucking moon, really.

She should mean it when she snickers along with Kelly as they watch Nathan who is in the midst of his most magnificent re-enactment to date, all arms swinging and pulling faces and showing her exactly what she never wanted to see.

So it has happened, then. Just like he said. Simon's cherry got popped and she should be happy. It would mean he got one step closer to … to them.

But all she can think of is the fact that it wasn't her.

He should be happy.

He should be over the fucking moon, really.

No more jokes, no more pitiful stares, no more cutting remarks. He was a man now ... or at least that was what they say.

She is gone now, though and he knows she won't be back. And he is sitting here, outside in the cold, alone, as always. And he knows he should feel like all manly or at least some sort of glow or warmth or happy. He should feel happy. Sex makes you fucking happy. It's what he's been told all his life. By the media, by the people, certainly by Nathan but …

All he can think is, that it is all wrong and he has no idea how to make it right.

Author's Note: Written for catalysted. Her prompt: Present!Simon and Alisha get together.

There is no thunder, no epic music. No lights in the sky or anything to emphasize the significance of what is happening, finally. After all the months of keeping her distance, mourning a loss that isn't one but surely feels like it. After all this time of trying to find a way in, of making the connection …

After all this it happens on an early Thursday morning. Light snow has settle over night and she is wearing her best cloves and they are on their way to the community centre, just walking, like they have been doing for weeks now. Talking, smiling, hoping.

Maybe it's the winter cold and the fact that she is wearing cloves or maybe before, though it felt right to her, just wasn't the right time for him but today, on this ordinary day in late November, things are different.

There are only a short way from the centre, she can already see the tiny figure of Kelly having a smoke and she thinks she can hear Nathan yelling when suddenly, he reaches for her hand.

It is so unexpected, she stops dead in her tracks and whirls around.

His eyes are wide, uncertain, wondering if he went to far but still, his hand is holding hers firmly and she can feel a breath of his warmth through her gloves.

The last time someone actually touched her, reached for her hand, was months ago, with him. The other him. She missed it.

She wonders if she should say something, tell him she doesn't mind. Or should she just keep walking?

“Alisha I ...” his voice is hesitant and reminds her too much of the boy he tries to hard to leave behind. His gaze drops the ground for a moment before he takes a deep breath and looks at her again.

“I want to be with you.”

There is only silence around them, silence and the crisp cold of winter but inside her, there is so much more. There is happiness and warmth and all she wants to do is kiss him and the knowledge that she can't, not yet, brings tears to her eyes.

Finally he is there, ready for them and she can't. Not yet.

Though a few treacherous tears run down her cheeks, her smile is wide when she reaches up with her gloved hand, cupping his cheek. And he is smiling now, too, grinning wildly and she can't help but laugh while the tears still fall.

“Finally ...”

Author's Note: Written for shocolate. Her prompt: Sacrifice

It's all still new; undiscovered. Exciting.

She marvels in the feeling of his hand in hers, not separated by gloves or cloth. It's all her and all him. Eagerly, she traces her fingers along the fine skin of his fingers while her naked foot under the table cannot keep from exploring just as much. Boldly, it runs up his leg, toes curling over his knee, digging into the cotton covering his thigh and she feels so free she can feel a giggle bubble inside her, pushing to tumble over her lips.
Quickly she reaches for her pint with the free hand and brings it to her mouth, grinning widely into the glass as she takes a deep sip.

Is it this hot in the room or is that just her?

She looks up and seeing the look on his face, she can't help but laugh. It's the most phenomenal mixture of shock, desire and uncertainty. Most prominent though, and that is what makes her laugh turn into a wide, loving smile, is an expression of utter, unadulterated happiness that she still has not gotten used to.

Before, a long time ago, when she first learnt of the man he would become one day, there had always been sorrow and pain in his gaze, always a deep-rooted sense of duty.

He is free now. And she is, too.

Like childish fools they grin at each other and she knows he is not yet entirely certain about her bold sexual advances but she is far from caring. She wants him, she wants him bad, and the sooner his education begins the better and so the practised ministrations continues and she nearly sighs when she feels him grow hard.

This is it, finally. Them.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the brightness in his expression vanishes, as if wiped away. His smile melts away and he seems to close off, the old fear and awkwardness resurfacing as if she time travelled.

Before she can wonder what is happening, she feels a hand on her shoulder. Thank god she's wearing a jacket.

“You lost, sweetheart?” The voice is sweet, too sweet really but also mocking. She spares the bloke a short glance across her shoulder, not that there is anything to see really, and turns back to Simon. His gaze keeps flickering from the guy to her and back. She can literally see him trying to form a sharp, smart response. The kind he gives Nathan these days when he's a dick without a second’s hesitation but here, with this bloke, things are different.

She tries to shrug the hand off with a sigh but, unsurprising, it's not enough.

“Leave her alone ...” It's a sad attempt and she knows he knows it. So does the new charmer behind her because she can hear him laugh and suddenly she remembers. The story Simon told them so long ago about a friendship turned sour, humiliation and a burning house.

She squeezes Simon's hand once, trying to reassure him, then she turns around.

“Funny you should ask. 'Cause, you see, I do kinda think I shouldn't be here. Been trying to figure out why that is but I think seeing you finally made it pop.” Still holding on to Simon's hand, she hops off her chair and drags her rather confused boyfriend to his feet with her.

She throws a wide fake-smile in the bloke’s direction and steps closer to Simon.

“Thing is, yeah. He's got me so dripping wet just from sitting there, talking to me, that I need to leave, right now. Cause the last time he had me up against the wall in the bog and was fucking me so hard, we were thrown out.” The grin on her lips now is darker, a smirk nearly. To make her point, she turns back to Simon. She lets her fingers run down his neck before hooking them in the material of his shirt, dragging him to her and giving him a quick but deep, tongue-filled kiss.

She turns back, wipes her lips dry with her hand while her eyes are locked on her opponent.

“So, thanks for pointing that out.”

So yes, maybe it was not the most dignified of performances, especially as this pub is one of the nicer ones around. Still, it's a small sacrifice to pay considering the manic grin on Simon’s face while they walk out together. How he, quite obviously, lets his hand slip to her bum and turns to look back at the now speechless bully, nodding at him once before ever-so lightly biting a spot just beneath her ear.

Title: And With The Rain
Author: purely_distel
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 735
Characters/Pairings: Simon/Alisha
Disclaimer: not mine, it all belongs to the strawberries!
Author's Note: Written for myfoolisheart. Her prompt: Rain
This was actually my very first try ever at writing s/a!

“Fuck you, Simon. Just FUCK you. You CAN'T keep doing this to me!”

Her lips, her hands, her entire body is shaking. The rain drops that run down her face mix themselves with the salt of her tears and her drenched clothes stick to her skin. She is freezing, she is hurting, she is broken.

When he reaches out to touch her face, two hands; warm, dry, cupping her face, she shakes her head, tries to get away. But he won't let her. His thump desperately tries to brush away the rain and the tears but they both know it's no good.

“Alisha … what ...”

She closes her eyes, wills the memories to go away. No matter. They are not memories any more. They are real. They are now. He is now. And he will be leaving soon. And he won't return. Again he will leave her, again he defines her life for her before she even knows it herself.

He told her she would fall in love with him. And she did.

The wet, heavy drops give a loud, rushing rhythm to their union, embrace her, him, them. Make the world be theirs for just a little while. She looks up in his eyes and sees confusion and hurt but also determination, strength.

She promised him. She promised she wouldn't tell him.

But he's standing there, all in black, the hoodie of his jumper drenched and a mask lying forgotten on the ground between them.

“Alisha please … what …?”

She mirrors him now. Fingers tracing the familiar patterns of his skin, remembering the curve of his lips and his cheeks and when she suddenly feels herself shaking her head.

Inside she is screaming. Yelling at him for even considering leaving her. Again. Taking himself too fucking seriously for his own good. She's yelling at him for messing up her life, her innocence, her ignorance. She wants to hit him, see him bleed, to make him feel her pain.

But all she does is cry, silently. And she leans up and kisses him and whispers “Be safe” and nearly chokes on the words and then she turns around and flees, not looking back.

Kelly tried to convince her to come. To join them, bring back the old days of group spirit. Nathan was bouncing away in the background, as inappropriate as ever and Curtis was slumped against one of the concrete walls, eyes on the floor, still uneasy around her though why, she doesn't know.

But she told them no. Told them to wake up, to not mess around in their fucked up fairytale world and get real. Blank stares had been her answer and so she'd told them to piss off. They had long since tried to understand her and she didn't even bother trying to explain. They had Nikki now anyway with her super-cool teleportation. Who needed her anyway?

Now, Alisha is sitting in her window and looking outside and it is raining and she hates and loves it. The drops make angry, harsh noises against the glass of her window and that suits her just fine because she is angry too. Angry at the past, the future and the present and every other fucked up, possible version in between. She's angry at Kelly and Nathan and their big buddy super-friends closeness and she is angry at Curtis and Nikki and how their sweet, sweet love makes her want to retch all over them and she is angry at them all for not even trying and angry at herself for trying even less. Most of all, of course, she is angry at him but he is not around and so she takes her anger out at the others and they don't understand and she can't tell and it's all just one fucked up mess.

They tell her she is cold and distant but it's not her fault that they never made the effort to get past her power. They never cared if they could touch her or not and now she doesn't care about being cold. It's easier that way.

She is still sitting in her window, hours later. Her forehead is resting against the cold glass, she is nearly shivering from the cold but still she watches the rain, listens to every angry splash and watches the world go by.

Far from her.

HA! You liked it! YAY! :D I do have to say, I find writing Misfits and especially this "in between" Alisha and Simon REALLY difficult ... so, I am really, REALLY happy you liked it :D

oh THANK you *hugs* I really enjoyed writing them (though it was tough sometimes. Writing Misfits is a lot more difficult than writing HP or Merlin ^^) so I am happy you liked reading them!
Dec. 7th, 2010 12:05 am (UTC)
i love how you wrote their interactions, i imagine it's tough writing simon and alisha because basically it's like you're writing four characters and you need to pay close detail to how they change in different timelines and stuff but, man, you did good. i especially like finally and small sacrifices :)
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:42 am (UTC)
Yes, exactly. It's (at least for me atm) kind of impossible just to go with the flow because SOMETHING is always ... either they can't touch or f!Simon just died or p!Simon is still all shy or Alisha is unsure or ... there is SO much to consider while writing them plus trying to get the feel and the language of Misfits into it ... it's a challenge. But THANK YOU so much for the compliment! It means a lot to hear you say you think I nailed it :)

Small Sacrifices and Finally are my two favourites as well. Also - the last two that I wrote so I guess I'm finally starting to wrap my head around writing them :)
Dec. 7th, 2010 12:55 am (UTC)
This was a great collaboration. I hope to see more!
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:42 am (UTC)
I'll try my best ;) But thank you! :)
Dec. 7th, 2010 01:25 am (UTC)
oh wow! these were awesome i think my favs were the last two!
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:43 am (UTC)
Oh really, the last one? I was so unsure about it and the whole time travelling stuff did my head in!

So, thanks!
Dec. 7th, 2010 02:42 am (UTC)
Nice job...I joined this comm just to read the fics, but these were inspiring. I might actually try to branch out beyond Merlin.
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:46 am (UTC)
Oh wow! That ... THAT actually means so much! You joined the comm for my Merlin stuff but still went ahead and read this anyway - THANK YOU!

Also, just so you know: I have two Merlin fics waiting to be posted (they're part of one of those Xmas fic giving things, so I can't post them yet ^^) and I am working on a multi-chaptered modern AU fic :)

but, yeah ... simon/alisha have eaten my brain atm so there will probably be a few more fics about them, too :)
Dec. 7th, 2010 02:42 am (UTC)

I want to say 'Fuck Simon', because this shit hurts!
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:50 am (UTC)
*hugs* sorry bb!
Dec. 7th, 2010 06:55 am (UTC)
these are awesome, I just have two notes: alisha's touch doesn't make everyone want to have sex with her any more? + you spelled clothes 'cloves' :]
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:48 am (UTC)
oops about the spelling but where is it unclear about the touching? *is all worried now* in Small Sacrifices, they just got passed the not-touching thing, before then they can't touch ...
Dec. 8th, 2010 07:01 am (UTC)
Is Small Sacrifices a fan fic? I mean on the show she hasn't gained the ability to touch anyone but Future Simon
Dec. 7th, 2010 10:01 am (UTC)
Aww, these were great. I particularly liked Finally which warmed my cold, black heart! :)
Dec. 7th, 2010 11:50 am (UTC)
I think Finally is my favourite, too ;) So happy I brought a bit more warmth to your black abyss :P
Dec. 14th, 2010 12:59 am (UTC)

Great drabbles <3
Jan. 30th, 2011 06:50 pm (UTC)
I loved all of them, but I have to tell you: the one with Matt touched my heart, really -specially the last part, with Simon grabbing Alisha's arse and nodding to the guy... it was great^^
Thanks for writing this.
